Cleaning Mustard Stains on Sleepwear

Tools You'll Need For This Project

  • Old toothbrush or cloth
  • Baking soda
  • White vinegar
  • Paper towels
  • A few drops of liquid detergent

Step One: Blot Up The Stains Gently

As soon as you notice the stain, use a clean paper towel to blot up any excess mustard. Be sure not to rub it in further and be as gentle as possible. This will help to lessen the amount of the stain.

Step Two: Apply Baking Soda To The Stain

Using a cloth or an old toothbrush, sprinkle baking soda onto the stained area. Let the baking soda sit for about 30 minutes and then brush it off gently.

Step Three: Rinse The Area With White Vinegar

Fill up a spray bottle with white vinegar and lightly mist the stained area. Rub the vinegar into stained area using a cloth until some suds appear. Let it remain for 10 minutes before rinsing with cold water.

Step Four: Add A Few Drops Of Detergent

Add a few drops of liquid detergent directly onto the mustarded area and use the cloth to gently scrub it. Rinse the area with cold water and repeat the process if necessary.

Step Five: Wash The Garment And Air Dry It

After cleaning the stained area with the detergent, put the garment in the washing machine and wash it according to the instructions on the label. Air dry the garment instead of putting it in the dryer.
