As soon as you notice the stain, use a clean paper towel to blot up any excess mustard. Be sure not to rub it in further and be as gentle as possible. This will help to lessen the amount of the stain.
Using a cloth or an old toothbrush, sprinkle baking soda onto the stained area. Let the baking soda sit for about 30 minutes and then brush it off gently.
Fill up a spray bottle with white vinegar and lightly mist the stained area. Rub the vinegar into stained area using a cloth until some suds appear. Let it remain for 10 minutes before rinsing with cold water.
Add a few drops of liquid detergent directly onto the mustarded area and use the cloth to gently scrub it. Rinse the area with cold water and repeat the process if necessary.
After cleaning the stained area with the detergent, put the garment in the washing machine and wash it according to the instructions on the label. Air dry the garment instead of putting it in the dryer.
