Step 1: Gently Blot the Stain

The first step is to act fast! Blot the mustard stain with a cloth or paper towel to remove as much of it as possible. Do not rub stain, as this will only spread it across the fabric.

Step 2: Soak the Stain with Cold Water

Next, fill a cup or bowl with cold water and submerge the stained area. Make sure that the water is as cold as possible without being freezing, as cold water will help to break up the mustard. Let the fabric soak for about 10 minutes. Remove the skirt from the water and lightly dab the area with a clean cloth or paper towel to remove excess moisture.

Step 3: Apply Stain Remover Spray

Apply a stain remover spray directly onto stained area. Work the spray into the fabric using a soft brush, taking care to work around the edges of the stain. Allow the product to sit on the skirt for at least 10 minutes before proceeding to the next step.

Step 4: Launder as Usual

Once stain remover has been applied, launder the skirt as usual in cold water. Make sure to check the stained area before putting the skirt in the dryer to make sure the stain has been removed. If you find that the stain is still present after laundering, repeat steps 2-4 until the stain has been completely removed.
