The first step in getting rid of mustard stains is to blot the stain with paper towels or a clean cloth. Blotting will help to remove as much of the mustard as possible without the risk of rubbing it into the fabric and making it worse. Once you have blotted as much as you can, rinse the area under cold running water.
In a bowl, mix together 2 tablespoons of laundry detergent, 1 tablespoon of white vinegar, and ¼ cup of warm water. Stir the mixture together until you have a paste-like consistency. Then, use a cloth to spread the mixture over the stain.
Now that you have applied the mixture to the stain, leave it for 10 minutes. This will allow mixture to work its magic.
After 10 minutes are up, take a damp cloth and lightly scrub area. This will help to remove the mixture and any remaining mustard stain. Once this is done, hand wash the area with warm water and detergent. After washing, rinse the area with cold water and press it gently with a dry cloth.
Allow the area to air dry. Once it is dry, inspect the area to see if the stain is still visible. If the stain is still there, repeat steps 2-4 until the stain is completely gone.
