Step 1: Blot Stain With an Absorbent Material

The first step is to use an absorbent material such as a paper towel or cloth to blot the mustard stain. Don’t rub stain as this can cause it to spread to other areas of the sandal. Start by lightly pressing the paper towel against the stain and continue to do this until no more of mustard transfer onto paper towel.

Step 2: Use a Spot Cleaner

Once the excess mustard has been removed, you can use a spot cleaner or a mild detergent to treat the stain. Before using any cleaning product, make sure to check the label to ensure that it is suitable for treating leather sandals. Gently dab the cleaner onto the stained area, making sure not to rub it in as this can damage sandals.

Step 3: Rinse the Sandals

Rinse the sandals with cold water and then use a paper towel to gently dab at stained area. This will help to remove any residue left behind after applying cleaner. Make sure to not rub stain as this can push the stain deeper into the material.

Step 4: Dry Sandals

Finally, use a clean cloth to dry sandals. Avoid using a hairdryer or putting the sandals in direct sunlight as this can cause the leather to crack. Once the sandals are dry, you should not be able to see any evidence of the mustard stain.
