If you spilled mustard on your Nylon fabric and the stain is still wet, the best thing to do is to try to lift it out as soon as possible. Start by blotting the area with a clean cloth or paper towel to remove as much of the mustard as you can. Be careful not to rub it too deeply into the fabric as this will more than likely spread the stain further.
Once you’ve blotted area, mix a tablespoon each of liquid dish soap and white vinegar in a bowl. Dip a clean cloth into mixture and then dab the cloth onto the stain, taking care not to rub area too harshly. Let the mixture sit on the stain for a few minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water.
If stain remains, you can also try a small amount of rubbing alcohol on the area. Again, be sure to dab at the stain rather than scrubbing it with cloth. Follow up with a rinse of cold water and air-dry the fabric.
When dealing with a mustard stain that has already dried, you’ll need to use a bit more effort to remove it from the fabric. Begin by using a soft-bristled brush to gently scrape off any excess mustard that is still clinging to the fabric. Then mix together a paste of baking soda and water and apply it directly to the stain. Let mixture sit for about 15 minutes, and then rinse off with cold water.
Next, use a small amount of enzyme laundry detergent on the stain and let it sit for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly before placing the fabric in the washing machine and washing as usual. You may want to use a heavy-duty laundry detergent to help breakdown the stain further.
These methods should help you remove mustard stains from Nylon fabric. Remember, the key is to act fast when you first spill the mustard and to gently work on the stain to avoid spreading it further into the fabric.
