Use a dry, clean cloth to blot up any excess mustard. Be sure not to rub it into fabric.
Mix a small amount of liquid detergent with either borax or baking soda, and stir until a paste is formed.
Gently apply the paste onto the stained area, using a sponge.
Allow paste to remain on the stain for 10-15 minutes.
Rinse area with cold water and use your fingers to rub area gently.
Fill a container with cold water and add 1/4 cup of white vinegar. Immerse the stained area in the mixture for about 5 minutes.
Wash the jeans according to the care instructions. Air dry or use a low-heat setting on the dryer. Inspect the jeans and repeat steps until the stain has been removed.
