Start by mixing together liquid detergent and hot water in a bowl. Stir until the detergent is fully dissolved in the water.
Next, dip a clean cloth or sponge into the solution and rub it over the stained area of the kimono. Use a gentle circular motion, so that you don’t damage fabric.
Leave the detergent solution on the stain for a few minutes. This will give the detergent enough time to break down the mustard.
When you’re done, rinse off the detergent with cold water. If the mustard stain is still visible, repeat the process until it has disappeared.
Mix together white vinegar and salt in a bowl until a paste forms.
Apply the paste to the mustard stain and leave it on for five minutes. Then, use a clean cloth to rub the stain gently in a circular motion.
Once the stain has been removed, rinse the affected area with cold water. If stain is still visible, repeat the process until it is gone.
Combine baking soda and hydrogen peroxide in a bowl until a thick paste forms.
Using a clean cloth, apply the paste onto the mustard stain and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then, use a damp cloth to rub the paste in a circular motion, so that it penetrates the fabric.
When stain has been removed, rinse the area with cold water. If the mustard stain is still visible, repeat the process until it disappears.
With these simple methods, you can easily remove mustard stains from your kimono. Just keep in mind that it may take several attempts and different solutions to completely erase the stain.
