First things first, you'll want to remove any remaining excess mustard off the jacket. Do this by using a spoon or butter knife to gently scrape away at stain. Be sure to avoid pressing too hard since it may spread stain further.
Next, use a clean, dry cloth to gently blot the stain. Make sure to use slow, circular motions as you blot to help draw the mustard out of the fabric. It's best to start from outside of the stain and work your way inwards.
Once the excess mustard has been removed and blotted, it's time to pretreat the stain. Generously spray the stain with a prewash stain remover and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. If you're in a pinch, you can also try using white vinegar. Simply mix one part vinegar with four parts water and spray material. Let the solution sit for 10-15 minutes before laundering.
Finally, you'll want to launder the jacket in washing machine. Be sure to check care label of the jacket to make sure you are using the appropriate water temperature and detergent. It's best to avoid using bleach or hot water since it could set the stain into the fabric.
After laundering, take a look at the stain to make sure it is gone. If it is still visible, repeat Steps 2-4 until the stain has disappeared.
Never do laundry again. Save time for things you ❤️
