Whether it’s a fresh or dried-on blob of mustard, follow these steps to get it off your headphones without any damage:
- Start by collecting materials you’ll need. This includes a soft cloth, water, white vinegar, baking soda, and laundry detergent.
- Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a bowl. Dip your cloth into liquid and gently blot mustard area, making sure not to rub it as this might make the stain spread out.
- Once you’ve fully blotted stain, rinse area with clean water.
- If residue remains, create a paste with baking soda and a few drops of water and use a soft cloth to gently scrub the area. Let the paste sit for a few minutes before rinsing it off with water.
- Once you’ve removed the bulk of the mustard, apply a few drops of laundry detergent to area and scrub again with a soft cloth. Rinse the detergent away with water.
- Finish off by drying the headphones with a clean, dry cloth.
Be sure not to use paper towels, abrasive sponges or iron, as they can damage material of the headphones. A dab of rubbing alcohol can also be used at the end to disinfect the area.
Now that you feel confident about removing Mustard stains from headphones and other fabric items, go deal with those spills and surprises with ease.
