To begin your stain removal process, apply a bit of cool water directly onto the mustard stain. Do not rub or scrub, as this can cause the stain to set in further and become more difficult to remove. Instead, gently dab the water onto the stain until it is completely saturated. If the stain has been there for a while, you may need to repeat this step multiple times.
Once the water has been applied, add a small amount of mild, non-detergent soap to stained area. Gently lather the soap into the fabric with a small toothbrush or soft cloth. Allow the soap to sit for about 10 minutes before continuing on to next step.
After the soap has had adequate time to penetrate the fabric, spray a liberal amount of white vinegar directly onto the stain. Allow it to set in for another 10 minutes, then rinse stained area with cold water. You may need to use a small towel to blot up any remaining soap suds or vinegar residue.
Finally, wash the entire hanbok piece in cool water and mild detergent. Make sure to separate any other clothing items in the washer to avoid transferring the mustard stain unto them. Once washing cycle is complete, hang the garment on a clothesline or lay it flat to air dry.
