Step 1: Start With Soap and Water

The first order of business is to use some mild soap and warm water, either in sink or with a damp cloth. The goal is to moisten stain, so if the fabric is severely stained, let it sit in soapy water for a few minutes before scrubbing the area gently.

Step 2: Grab Some Distilled White Vinegar

A vinegar solution will be your best option for breaking down stubborn yellow mustard stains. Mix a one-to-one ratio of white vinegar and cold water. After dipping a cloth into the mixture, gently rub it over the affected area.

Step 3: Move On To Detergent

If the vinegar didn't do the trick, this is the time to reach for liquid detergent. Again, mix it with cold water, then gently rub the detergent onto the stain. Avoid rubbing too vigorously, as you could damage fabric.

Step 4: Call on Some Peroxide

For tough stains, hydrogen peroxide is your go-to. Create a paste of peroxide and a gentle detergent, then apply the paste directly to the stain. Use a brush to get into details, then let it sit for two hours. Once that time has passed, rinse off the mixture and see if stain is gone.
