If you’ve ever gotten mustard on your clothing, you know how stubborn these stains can be. The first step to cleaning garter fabric is to blot the stain with a cloth, paper towel, or clean rag. Don’t rub, as this can spread the stain further and worsen the situation. Instead, use light pressure to absorb as much of the mustard as possible.

Once the area is blotted, put some liquid laundry detergent directly onto the stain. For heavier stains, you may need to add more detergent. Allow the detergent to sit for 15 minutes before washing in the hottest water temperature that’s safe for the fabric. Repeat the process until stain is no longer visible.

If you’re still seeing the mustard stain after laundering, you may want to try using a pre-wash stain remover like Spray ‘n Wash or Shout. Apply product directly to the stain and let it soak for at least fifteen minutes before washing. Be sure to check fabric manufacturer’s instructions before starting any stain removal process. If garment is dry-clean only, take it to cleaners for professional treatment.

By following these easy steps, you can say goodbye to those pesky mustard stains and keep your garter clothing looking fresh and new!
