If you catch stain while it’s still wet, the best thing you can do is blot it as soon as possible with a clean cloth or paper towel. Gently press the cloth against the stained area, being careful not to scrub or rub too hard. This will help avoid further spreading of the stain.
Mix together a few drops of mild detergent in a bowl of warm water and apply to the stained area using a clean, white cloth. Use a dabbing motion and keep the area moist. Once you have finished, rinse off the detergent with a damp cloth.
For more stubborn stains, pretreat them by spraying the affected area with a prewash stain remover. Let the spray sink in for up to thirty minutes, then use a damp cloth to work stain remover into the stain. For heavily stained areas, you may want to try repeating this step a few times.
With these easy steps, you’ll be able to banish mustard stains from your draperies and curtains in no time!
