Using a butter knife or other utensil, carefully scrape off any excess mustard from the fabric.
Mix one teaspoon of liquid dish detergent with one cup of cold water. Stir gently to combine ingredients, then dip a white cloth into the solution.
Starting at the outer edge of the stain, gently blot the area with the dampened cloth, focusing on the stained area. If the cleaning solution seems to be getting dirty, mix up a new batch.
Once you have blotted away as much of stain as possible, use a soft-bristled brush to lightly scrub the stain until it begins to fade. Again, if the cleaning solution gets dirty, replace it.
Rinse the affected area with cold water, then launder according to the garment's care instructions. Make sure you use an enzyme-based laundry detergent for best results.
With a little elbow grease, you should be able to remove mustard stains from cotton twill. Just remember to work quickly and use the right supplies to ensure best results.
