  1. Check if the leather has been treated and select the appropriate cleaner. Be sure to read all of the instructions before starting.
  2. Mix warm water and cleaner in a bucket until it foams.
  3. Dip a soft cloth into the mixture and rub the stained area gently. Work in a circular motion for at least five minutes.
  4. Rinse cloth and repeat the process if necessary.
  5. Leave to dry.

Other Options:

If the stain persists and leather cleaner isn't available, you can opt for some household remedies. Here are a few:

  • Mix a tablespoon of white vinegar into a cup of warm water, and dampen a cloth in the solution. Rub the stain with the cloth and then wash area with cold water.
  • Make a paste of baking soda and warm water and rub it onto the stain. Wash off with cold water afterwards.
  • Mix equal parts of liquid detergent and white vinegar, dip a cloth into the solution and scrub stain. Rinse with cold water.

Preventative Measures:

It goes without saying that prevention is better than cure. If you want to prevent stains from appearing on your Coach handbag, here are some tips:

  • Regularly wipe down your bag using a soft cloth.
  • Use appropriate sprays and cleaners designed exclusively for leather.
  • Store bag away from direct sunlight or heat.
  • If bag isn't in use, store it in its dust bag or a cardboard box.
