If the mustard has been on your capris for less than 24 hours, start by gently wiping the stain away with a damp cloth. If the stain is more set-in, try spraying it with a pre-treatment stain remover and then gently blotting it with a clean cloth. This should loosen the stain enough to remove most of it.
For tougher stains, make a paste with equal parts dishwashing detergent and white vinegar. Apply the paste to the stain, let it sit for 30 minutes, and then rinse with cold water. This should help lift remaining stain.
You can also try soaking capris in a solution of the detergent and 1/4 cup of baking soda per gallon of water for 30 minutes. This should break down the mustard molecules and make it easier to remove.
Finally, launder as usual with an appropriate detergent, and if the stain is still present, repeat the process. With a little determination, you should be able to say goodbye to those mustard stains once and for all!
