Mustard stains on business suits can be a real nuisance. Fortunately, you don’t need a lot of special supplies—just some common household items—to get the job done. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Blot up as much of mustard as possible with a paper towel or a clean cloth.
  2. Mix 2 teaspoons of liquid dishwashing detergent with two cups of warm water.
  3. Dampen a clean white cloth with the solution and dab at stain.
  4. Rinse and repeat until the stain is removed.
  5. If stain persists after several attempts, apply a small amount of rubbing alcohol to the stained area and blot off with a clean white cloth.
  6. Once all traces of stain are gone, launder the suit according to care label instructions and air dry.

If you’re in a rush, you can also try applying a small amount of white vinegar to stained area and then dabbing it with a cloth dampened with cold water.

Removing mustard from your business suits isn’t always easy, but these steps will help you restore your professional look and put your mind at ease. Good luck!
