Removing Fresh Mustard Stains From Broomstick Lace

  • Treat the stain as soon as possible. Blot up any excess mustard with a damp rag or a paper towel.
  • Mix equal parts white vinegar and cold water in a bowl. Dip a cotton swab in this mixture and apply it directly onto the stain.
  • Gently rub the stain using the cotton swab, working from the outside of the stain inwards. This will help to keep the stain from spreading.
  • Rinse the fabric with cold running water., and if necessary, repeat steps 2 and 3 until the stain is gone.
  • Blot the fabric dry with a clean, dry cloth.

Removing Dried Mustard Stains From Broomstick Lace

  • Mix one tablespoon of dishwashing detergent, one tablespoon of white vinegar, and two cups of hot water in a bowl.
  • Soak a small area of the fabric that is not visible. If color is not affected, soak the entire garment for 15 minutes.
  • Agitate the fabric while it is in the mixture of detergent, vinegar, and water. Use a soft brush to scrub the stain.
  • Rinse the fabric with cold running water and then blot it dry with a clean cloth.

Tips

  • Always test a small area of fabric before soaking the entire garment in vinegar and water.
  • Never put detergent directly onto the fabric. Always mix it with hot water first.
  • Gently agitate the fabric while it is in the hot water and detergent solution to help break up the stain.
  • Allow the fabric to air dry after rinsing.
