Mustard is a delicious condiment, but it can also be damaging to clothing, especially on bodycon dresses which may have delicate fabric. It’s important to act quickly when a mustard stain appears on a bodycon dress as the fabric on these garments is designed for a snug fit, so once the stain has dried it could become very difficult to remove. Here’s a simple cleaning guide to help you tackle mustard stains with ease.

Step 1: Blot Stain

As soon as you notice a mustard stain on the bodycon dress, it’s important to act quickly. Begin by blotting the excess with a paper towel or soft cloth to keep the stain from spreading.

Step 2: Pretreat the Stain

Pretreat the stained area with a laundry detergent that is specifically made for removing stains. Work the detergent into the fabric as much as possible with a toothbrush. If you do not have a detergent, you can also use diluted dishwashing liquid or white vinegar. Leave the solution on the stain for five minutes.

Step 3: Rinse with Cold Water

Once the detergent has had a chance to work on the stain, rinse the area with cold water, making sure to rinse away all of the detergent. Do not use hot water, as this can cause the stain to set in permanently.

Step 4: Launder as Usual

Finally, launder the bodycon dress as usual. Make sure to let it air dry and check to see if stain has been removed. If any traces remain, repeat the above steps until the stain has been fully removed.
