Gathering Your Materials
To get rid of a mustard stain from your board shorts, you’ll need suppliers like:
- A damp cloth
- Laundry detergent
- Paper towels
- Distilled white vinegar
- Baking soda
- Rubbing alcohol
Removing The Mustard Stain
- First, remove any excess mustard with a paper towel. Try not to rub it in too much, as this can cause the stain to spread.
- Dampen a cloth with cold water, then sprinkle a small amount of laundry detergent on it.
- Gently rub area with the detergent-coated cloth until stain fades.
- If the stain still remains, mix one part distilled white vinegar with two parts water. Soak a cloth in the mixture, then use it to dab at the stain.
- If necessary, you can also add baking soda to the paste. Rub it onto the mustard stain with a dry cloth, then rinse with cold water afterward.
- If stain is still there, try using a small amount of rubbing alcohol on the affected area, followed by a rinse with cold water.
Finishing Up
Once stain is gone, allow your board shorts to air dry. If the stain was particularly stubborn, consider taking them to a professional cleaner who can make sure they remain looking their best.
