Gathering Your Materials

To get rid of a mustard stain from your board shorts, you’ll need suppliers like:

  • A damp cloth
  • Laundry detergent
  • Paper towels
  • Distilled white vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Rubbing alcohol

Removing The Mustard Stain

  1. First, remove any excess mustard with a paper towel. Try not to rub it in too much, as this can cause the stain to spread.
  2. Dampen a cloth with cold water, then sprinkle a small amount of laundry detergent on it.
  3. Gently rub area with the detergent-coated cloth until stain fades.
  4. If the stain still remains, mix one part distilled white vinegar with two parts water. Soak a cloth in the mixture, then use it to dab at the stain.
  5. If necessary, you can also add baking soda to the paste. Rub it onto the mustard stain with a dry cloth, then rinse with cold water afterward.
  6. If stain is still there, try using a small amount of rubbing alcohol on the affected area, followed by a rinse with cold water.

Finishing Up

Once stain is gone, allow your board shorts to air dry. If the stain was particularly stubborn, consider taking them to a professional cleaner who can make sure they remain looking their best.
