One of the best methods for removing mustard stains from bikinis is to fill up a basin or sink with lukewarm water and a small amount of soap. Submerge the stained area of the bikini in the soapy water and allow it to soak for 15 minutes. After soaking, scrub the stained area gently with a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse the area and then inspect to see if the stain has been removed.
Vinegar has natural disinfectant properties and can be a great way to help remove stubborn mustard stains from bikinis. All that's needed is to apply a bit of white vinegar directly to the stain, let stand for 10-15 minutes, and then gently wipe with a soft cloth. After the area has been wiped, rinse the area with cold water and vinegar should have loosened the stain.
If other methods have failed, you may need to break out the heavy-duty stuff. Mixing laundry detergent and hot water together can create an effective cleaning solution. Prepare mixture by combining 1 cup of laundry detergent with 2 cups of very hot water. The water should be hot enough to "set" the stain, but not so hot that it causes damage to the fabric. Apply the mixture directly to the stain and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Afterwards, rinse area with cold water and repeat the process until the stain is completely gone.
