What You'll Need

  • Towels
  • Dishwashing detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Soft-bristled brush
  • Laundry stain remover (optional)

Step 1: Blot the Stain

As soon as possible, take the Versace garment outside and carefully blot the stained area with a towel. Do not rub; otherwise, the mud will spread and further embed itself in the fibers.

Step 2: Gently Brush

If some of the mud is still visible, gently brush the affected area with a soft-bristled brush. Move in circular motions, taking care not to damage the delicate fabric.

Step 3: Make a Cleaning Solution

Mix one tablespoon of dishwashing liquid with two cups of water. Optionally, add a few tablespoons of white vinegar.

Step 4: Apply the Solution

Using a sponge, apply the solution to the stained area. Work in gentle circles and leave for about 10 minutes.

Step 5: Rinse and Repeat

Rinse stained area with cool, clean water and repeat the steps above until the stain disappears. This process may need to be repeated several times.

Step 6: Wash

Once stain has been removed, follow the washing instructions on garment's label and wash as normal. Optionally, use a laundry stain remover before washing.

Conclusion

Cleaning mud stains from Versace garments doesn't need to be tricky. With a few simple supplies and a little patience, your Versace clothing can look good as new in no time.
