Mud stains are an annoying but inevitable part of life. Whether you’ve been playing in the mud, or your toddler’s got a little over-excited playing outdoors, mud won’t stand a chance against these steps.
The first step in removing mud stains is to pre-treat them with a laundry detergent. Apply plain laundry detergent directly onto the stain, then let it sit for 10-15 minutes. This will help to break down the dried mud and make it easier to remove.
Once you’ve pre-treated the stain, you should machine wash the item of clothing. Make sure to use a cold water setting and a mild detergent - this will help to prevent the stain from setting further into the fabric.
If any of stain remains after washing, try applying a laundry stain remover. Gently rub it into the stain and leave it for about 10 minutes before washing again. This should help to lift the remaining stain.
Finally, make sure to air dry the item of clothing or tumble dry it on low. The heat from dryer can set the stain, making it harder to remove in the future.
Never do laundry again. Save time for things you ❤️
