Steps for Cleaning Mud Stains on Sweaters
- Check the care label on your sweater. Wash according to instructions. If dry clean only, take it to the dry cleaners.
- To begin, use a soft bristled brush to gently remove as much dirt as possible from the stain.
- Prepare a mixture of 1 teaspoon of laundry detergent, 1 tablespoon of white vinegar, and 2 cups of warm water. Soak the stained sweater in this solution for 15 minutes.
- Gently rub the mud stain using your fingers to help loosen the dirt.
- Rinse the sweater with cool water and then launder as usual, according to care label instructions.
