Start by running tap water until it reaches scalding temperatures. Place the spandex material in sink and submerge it in the hot water. Make sure to swish it around and get all the mud stains covered. Then, add a few drops of a detergent that is designed for delicate fabrics and let it soak for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, remove the spandex from the hot water. To tackle any remaining mud stains, make a mixture of white vinegar and cold water. Depending on the size of the stain, use anywhere between one cup and one gallon of vinegar. Once your mixture is ready, add your spandex fabric to it and let it soak for one hour.
Once an hour has passed, remove the spandex fabric from the mixture. If you're still seeing signs of a mud stain, reach for some baking soda. Create a paste using water and baking soda and spread it on the area where the stain is located. Let it sit for 15 minutes before rinsing fabric off with cold water. Finally, launder your spandex as usual to reveal mud-free fabric.
