It’s inevitable for mud stains to show up on our shoes every now and then. Some dirt and mud clings so stubbornly that it just won’t seem to come off despite our best efforts. Fear not, DIY warriors! Keep reading to learn secret steps to get your Skechers looking brand new again.

What You Need

  • Two cloths
  • Mild detergent/ laundry soap
  • Clean toothbrush
  • White vinegar
  • Water

Step 1: Blot the Stain

Using the first clean cloth, start blotting away at the mud stain. Press down gently while rubbing over affected area. This will help take away any excess dirt or mud without driving it in deeper. As you continue to do this, you will notice the stain slowly fading away.

Step 2: Mix Detergent Solution

Once you've finished blotting the stain, mix a solution of mild liquid laundry detergent and a few teaspoons of white vinegar. For lighter colored Skechers, you can add a small scoop of baking soda to the mix.

Step 3: Scrub Away

Take your second clean cloth and dip it into solution. Lightly scrub the stained area with the damp cloth until you notice dirt coming off. Use a clean toothbrush to scrub dirt out if needed.

Step 4: Rinse & Dry

Run the affected area over some cool water to rinse away any soapy residue. Gently dab away any remaining moisture with a dry cloth or let the Skechers air dry. Repeat these steps until all the mud stains are gone and voila, your Sneakers are back to being as good as new!
