The first step to cleaning mud stains from your sari is to make sure that it is clean to begin with. Before treating stains, remove any dust or dirt from the sari by hand or use a lint roller to get rid of any lint that may be stuck on it.
The next step is to soak sari in a mixture of water and detergent. This will help to loosen any mud stains that may be present. You should use a gentle detergent that is suitable for delicate fabrics. If possible, allow sari to soak for at least 30 minutes before attempting to remove mud stains.
Once the sari has been soaked in the detergent-water mixture, it's time to begin scrubbing the mud stains. Use a gentle brush or sponge and scrub gently. Be sure not to rub too hard or you may damage the delicate fabric.
After you've scrubbed the mud stains, rinse the sari thoroughly in cool water. This will help to remove any remaining detergent as well as any traces of mud. Once the sari has been thoroughly rinsed, hang it to dry somewhere out of direct sunlight.
Once the sari is dry, inspect it to ensure that all the mud stains have been removed. If not, repeat the above steps until all the mud is gone. Lastly, iron the sari using a low heat setting to ensure that it looks its best.
