First, you want to pre-treat stain with a laundry detergent. To do this, put a few drops of laundry detergent onto the stain and rub it with your finger in a circular motion. This will help break up the mud before you actually wash the robe.
The next step is to soak robe in a sink filled with warm water. Make sure water is not too hot, as this can cause the dye to bleed and damage the fabric. Let the robe soak for at least 30 minutes so mud has time to break up.
Once the robe has been soaking, you can put it into the washing machine. Use a mild detergent and set the machine to a gentle cycle. Make sure to check the care label on your robe to make sure the temperature and cycle are appropriate for the fabric.
After washing the robe, you should hang it up to dry instead of using a dryer. This will help preserve the fabric and reduce any potential shrinkage. Allow the robe to air dry completely before wearing.
