No matter how hard you try to keep your pillows clean, mud stains are bound to happen – maybe after a day of playing outdoors, or because of a beloved pet. Fortunately, it's fairly easy to get mud stains out of pillows, as long as you act promptly and follow the right instructions.

Step 1: Prep the Stain

The key to getting rid of mud from your pillows is acting fast, so make sure to tend to the stain immediately once you spot it. Gently blot area with a dry cloth, or use a vacuum to suction up the mud.

Step 2: Spot Clean with Soap Solution

Mix a teaspoon of laundry detergent (preferably one that is designed for delicate fabrics) with a cup of cold water. Dip a clean cloth into solution, wring it out, and blot the stained area. Be gentle so as not to spread mud. Let the soap sit on the stain for 5 minutes before rinsing it out.

Step 3: Rinse and Dry

Use a damp cloth to rinse off any soap residue. Blot the area dry with a clean cloth or a paper towel. Allow the pillow to air dry completely.

With these three easy steps, you'll have your pillows looking like new in no time!
