It's important to act quickly when it comes to removing mud stains, as longer they stay on, the harder they are to get rid of. If you have a mud stain on your pencil skirt, take it off and rinse the area with cold water as soon as possible.
The next step is to pre-treat the stain using a stain remover or laundry detergent. Generously apply the product to the stain and allow it to sit for about 15 minutes before moving on to the next step.
Wash the skirt according to its care instructions, either by machine or by hand. Be sure to use a gentle detergent that won't damage fabric. If you're washing the skirt by hand, be sure to soak it for 10-15 minutes before agitating it and rinsing.
Once you've washed the skirt, check the stain to make sure it's gone. If stain is still present, repeat steps 2 and 3 until the stain has been removed.
Once the stain has been removed, hang the skirt up to dry or lay it flat on a towel to dry. Avoid putting skirt in the dryer as the heat may set the stain, making it harder to remove.
