The first thing you need to do is scrape off as much of the mud as possible. Use a blunt knife or spatula to gently scrape away the mud from the fabric, being careful not to damage the fabric. Once you're done, wipe away any residual mud or dirt with a damp cloth.
Once you've scraped off as much of the mud as you can, it's time to pre-treat the stained area by applying a solution of water and laundry detergent. Make sure the detergent is suitable for the fabric type. Leave the solution on the stained area for a few minutes before washing the garment.
After pre-treating the stain, wash the garment in warm or hot water with regular detergent. For delicate materials, you may need to use a gentle cycle or even handwash the garment. Once the cycle is finished, inspect garment to make sure all of the mud has been removed.
Getting mud stains out of Paul Smith garments can take a bit of effort, but with the following steps, you can clean even the toughest of stains: scrape off mud, pre-treat the stain, and then wash the garment.
