Oxfords are stylish shoes ideal for work, school, and other formal occasions. Keeping them clean is often a challenge, especially when you have to deal with mud stains.

Materials Needed

  • A soft brush
  • Thick layer of talcum powder
  • Cold water
  • Mild detergent
  • Towel or cloth

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. If mud is still wet, use the soft brush to carefully remove the excess mud from surface.
  2. Sprinkle a thick layer of talcum powder onto the area and allow it to sit for at least an hour.
  3. Using cold water and a mild detergent, gently scrub the area using soft brush. Take care not to press too hard or rub too vigorously, as this can damage the material.
  4. Rinse the area well with cold water, making sure to remove all soap residue.
  5. Pat the area dry with a towel or cloth.
  6. Allow to air dry before wearing.

Tips and Tricks

  • It's best to act quickly if you want to avoid permanent stains.
  • Spot test any detergents before cleaning the entire area.
  • Avoid using hot water or excessive scrubbing.
  • Allow the shoes to air dry away from direct sunlight or heat.
  • If the stains cannot be removed, it's best to take the shoes to a professional cleaner.
