Oxford shoes are a classic staple of any wardrobe, and no one wants them to be ruined by mud stains. Fortunately, there are a few easy steps you can take to get rid of these unsightly markings.
The first step is to remove any excess mud from the shoe. To do this, use a damp cloth or paper towel to dab away as much mud as possible. You may also need to use a soft brush to gently scrub away at the dried mud. It’s important to be gentle so that you don’t damage the material of the shoe.
Once you’ve removed the excess mud from the shoe, it’s time to make a cleaning solution. For this, you will need some mild dish soap and warm water. Combine a teaspoon of dish soap with a cup of warm water, then stir until ingredients are mixed together.
Using a soft rag or sponge, gently apply cleaning solution to the stain. Allow the solution to sit for a few minutes to help loosen the mud. Then, using a soft brush, gently scrub the area in a circular motion until stain begins to lift. Be sure to rinse the rag often to prevent the mud from spreading.
After scrubbing stained area, rinse the shoe with plain water. Use a cloth to remove any remaining residue from the shoe. Finally, let the shoe air dry completely, or use a hairdryer on a cool setting to speed up the process.
