Removing Wet Mud With a Towel

If you only have wet mud on your shoes, then this method is the easiest one to use. Start by wiping away the largest pieces. Then, dampen a clean towel with warm, soapy water and blot mud stains until they are completely removed. After that, rinse the area with clean water and dry your shoes using another clean towel.

Cleaning Dried Mud With Vinegar

If mud has already dried, cleaning it takes a bit of effort. First, scrape off as much of the dried mud as possible with a sturdy brush. Then, make a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and warm water. Use a soft cloth to dab the vinegar solution onto the mud stains. Once it has been completely soaked in, wipe down the area with a damp cloth. Repeat this step until the mud stains are no longer visible.

Keeping Your Shoes Clean in the Future

Once your shoes are clean, you’ll want to keep them that way in future. To do this, always apply a waterproof protector before wearing your shoes outside. This will help repel water and mud, making it easier to clean any dirt or stains off your shoes.
