Step 1: Act Quickly

Mud stains can set quickly, so it’s important to act right away before the stain sets in. Gently brush off as much mud as you can with a soft brush, and then blot any excess mud with a clean cloth. Do not rub or scrub the stain as this can cause damage to the fabric.

Step 2: Pre-Treat the Stain

Once you’ve brushed off excess mud, use a pre-treatment product specially designed for fabrics like your jacket. Spray the pre-treatment onto the stained area and allow it to sit for at least 10 minutes. This will help to loosen the mud and make it easier to remove.

Step 3: Wash the Garment

Follow the instructions on the garment label for washing. Hand-washing is preferable if possible, but you can use a washing machine on a gentle cycle. Make sure to use a mild detergent that is safe for the fabric and don’t use bleach or fabric softener. If the stain is still visible after washing, repeat steps 1 and 2 and then wash again.

Step 4: Air-Dry Garment

After washing, hang your jacket up to air-dry. Make sure not to place it in direct sunlight, as this can cause fading or damage to the fabric. Avoid using a dryer or ironing the garment until the stain has been completely removed.
