What You'll Need to Clean Mud Stains
- Mild liquid detergent
- White vinegar
- Bucket of warm water
- Toothbrush/old rag
- Towel
Instructions for Cleaning Mud Stains
- Mix two tablespoons of mild liquid detergent with one quart of warm water in a bucket. Be sure to use only mild detergents; strong detergents can damage Fred Perry fabrics.
- Soak the garment with mud stains in the soapy mixture for at least 30 minutes.
- Use a toothbrush or an old rag to gently scrub away the mud stains.
- Rinse garment with clean water.
- Mix one cup of white vinegar with two quarts of warm water in a separate bucket. Soak the garment in this mixture for at least 10 minutes.
- Rinse the garment with clean water until all traces of the vinegar are gone.
- Place the garment on a towel and leave it to air-dry.
Preventing Future Mud Stains
To ensure that your Fred Perry clothes last as long as possible, it's important to take care when washing them. Hand-washing is best, but if you choose to machine-wash, use the gentle cycle and cold water. Furthermore, never mix colors when washing, and be sure to line dry your clothes after they're washed.
