Say Goodbye to Mud Stains on Your Formalwear
Mud stains can be one of the more difficult stains to remove from formalwear, but it's not impossible. With the right approach, you can freed your garments from those unsightly blemishes.

Gather Necessary Supplies:
- Dishwashing detergent
- White vinegar
- Baking soda
- Stiff brush or soft cloth
- Cold water
Directions
- Combine 1 quart cold water with 1 teaspoon dishwashing detergent and 1 tablespoon white vinegar.
- Using a soft cloth or brush, work the mixture into the affected area.
- Rinse fabric with cold water.
- If the stain remains, combine 1 teaspoon baking soda with 1 quart of cold water. Apply the mixture to the stain, then rinse with cold water.
- Repeat until the stain is gone. If the stain still won't budge, you may need to dry clean the item.
Tips
- Always spot-test a cleaning solution in an inconspicuous area of your garment before applying it to the mud-stained area.
- If you're dealing with a delicate fabric, such as silk, forgo the stiff brush and instead use a soft cloth to scrub the area.
- If mud stain is still visible after you're finished cleaning, take the garment to a professional dry cleaner.
