Things You'll Need
- Soft brush
- Mild soap
- Sponge
- Clean towel
- Water
Instructions
- Brush off the mud as much as possible with a soft brush. It's important to remove as much mud as you can so that it doesn't set into the fabric or leather.
- Mix one teaspoon of mild soap into a cup of warm water. Make sure the soap isn't too strong or it could damage the fabric or leather.
- Dip a sponge into the soapy water and gently scrub the stained area. Be sure not to scrub too hard or you could damage the material.
- Rinse off the soap with clean water. Use the soft brush again to brush away any remaining mud.
- Dry the shoes with a clean towel. Don't expose them to direct heat or sunlight, as this could cause them to fade or shrink.
Tips
- Try to clean mud stains as soon as possible. The longer they sit, the harder it will be to remove them.
- If the stain is still present after using the above method, you may need to use a specialized cleaning product.
Warnings
- Don't use bleach or other harsh chemicals to clean mud stains. These could damage the fabric and discolor the shoes.
