It’s inevitable: As soon as you step outside with your cotton oxford clothing, you’re bound to get dirty. So if you’ve got mud stains on your favorite blazer or shoes, fear not – you can tackle them with some simple household items and a few easy steps.
Before you attempt to remove mud stain, it’s important to pre-treat the fabric to loosen the dirt. Using a sponge, mix equal parts liquid detergent and cool water together. Gently dab the mixture onto the mud stain and let it sit for 10 minutes. This will help to loosen the dirt, making it easier to remove.
Soak the fabric in clean, warm water for 30 minutes. This will further help to loosen any stubborn dirt and reduce the visibility of the stain.
After soaking the fabric in water, apply a mixture of equal parts vinegar and cool water over stain. Rub the mixture gently into the fabric with your hands or a soft cloth, being careful not to rub it too harshly as this could damage fabric’s fibers.
