What You'll Need

  • 1/4 cup of cold water
  • 2 teaspoons of natural dish soap
  • A clean cloth
  • Cotton swab
  • Low-temperature iron

Steps

  1. Mix 1/4 cup of cold water with 2 teaspoons of natural dish soap in a bowl.
  2. Dip your clean cloth in soapy water and wring it out so it is slightly damp.
  3. Gently dab the mud stain with the damp cloth until it starts to lift.
  4. If there are still stubborn stains, use a cotton swab dipped in soapy water to help.
  5. Once the mud is gone, set the iron to low heat and press the Chantilly lace gently. This will help set the fabric and restore its original shape.

Tips

  • Be sure to work on a flat surface and avoid stretching the fabric while dealing with the stain.
  • Do not use bleach when cleaning Chantilly lace as it will damage the fabric.
  • It is best to spot clean fabric as soon as possible to prevent the mud stain from setting.
