Dried mud stains can be tricky to remove from most fabrics, and cargo pants are no exception. The good news is that it is possible to restore your favorite pants back to their former glory. Here's how to do just that:

  1. Start by scraping off as much of the dried mud from your pants as possible, working from the outside edges towards the center.
  2. Next, mix a solution of warm water and a small amount of mild liquid detergent. Dip a soft cloth or sponge into the solution and dab at the affected area to begin loosening the dried mud stain.
  3. Once you have worked the solution into stain, rinse with cool water. Don't rub the fabric while rinsing, just let the water flow over it.
  4. After rinsing, blot the area dry with a clean rag or paper towel.
  5. If the mud stain remains, you may need to treat it with a specific fabric stain remover. Read the product instructions carefully, and test in an inconspicuous spot first.
  6. For an extra boost, rub a small amount of liquid laundry detergent directly onto the stain before laundering as usual.

Stubborn mud stains can make even the toughest cargo pants look less than their best. Fortunately, with the right approach and some patience, you can have them looking almost as good as new once more. Have fun exploring the great outdoors!
