What You'll Need

  • Dry cloth
  • Vacuum
  • Soft brush
  • Mild detergent
  • Soft sponge

Step 1: Blot Stain

Before attempting to remove the mud stain from the calico fabric, use a dry cloth to blot any excess mud from the surface of the fabric. Do not rub or scrub the fabric, as this may cause the stain to spread further.

Step 2: Vacuum the Stained Area

Using a vacuum, gently vacuum the stained area of the fabric. This will help to remove any residual mud particles that are still on the fabric.

Step 3: Brush the Stained Area

Once fabric has been vacuumed, use a soft brush to carefully brush the stained area. This will help to loosen any remaining mud particles that may still be lodged in the fabric.

Step 4: Treat the Stain

Mix a small amount of mild detergent with warm water and use a soft sponge to dab at the stained area. Continue to dab the stained area until all of the mud has been removed. Once mud has been removed, rinse the area with clean, warm water.

Step 5: Allow the Fabric to Air Dry

After rinsing the fabric, allow it to air dry away from direct sunlight. Once the fabric is dry, the mud stain should be completely gone.
