Start with the Basics

Remove visible mud from your shoes with a damp cloth. To make sure you’re eliminating all dirt, use an old toothbrush or soft-bristled brush to gently scrub away dirt particles from the seams, grooves, and treads of your shoes. Once all the mud has been removed, allow your shoes to air dry.

Try a Gentle Detergent Solution

In a bowl, mix one tablespoon of liquid laundry detergent and a half-cup of warm water. Dip a clean cloth into the mixture and blot it onto the mud stain until the stain begins to come off. Rinse the area with clean water and pat it dry with a towel.

Use a Mild Vinegar Solution

Create a mild solution of equal parts water and white vinegar. Dip a toothbrush in the mixture and apply it to the mud stain. Work the solution into the stain with gentle scrubbing motions. Once you’ve finished, rinse the area with cold water and allow your shoes to air dry.

Try a Baking Soda Paste

Mix a paste by combining two tablespoons of baking soda with two tablespoons of warm water. Apply the paste to the mud stain and let it sit for 10 minutes. Rub the paste into the stain using a soft-bristled brush or cloth. Rinse the area with cold water and allow your shoes to air dry.

Professional Cleaning

If you are unable to remove the mud stains from your ASICS, take them to a professional shoe cleaner who can take care of it. The service will cost extra, but it will be worth it to have your ASICS looking like new.
