Step 1: Soak the Stained Spot
The first step is to soak the stained spot in cold water for 15-20 minutes. This will help loosen and remove some of the dirt and mud. Be sure to change water frequently during this process.
Step 2: Pre-Treat the Stain
Once the area has been soaked, pre-treat the stain with a laundry detergent that is specifically designed to fight tough stains. Apply a dab of the detergent directly to affected area and work it into a lather, then let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
Step 3: Machine Wash the Dress
Once you’ve pre-treated the stain, its time to machine wash the dress. Set your washing machine to the delicate cycle, and be sure to use cold water. Add a small amount of laundry detergent and let the machine do its thing.
Step 4: Air Dry or Tumble Dry
After washing the dress, its time to dry it. If you’re air drying dress, be sure to hang it up away from direct sunlight. If you’d prefer to tumble dry the dress, be sure to set your dryer on a low heat setting.
