To effectively remove mouthwash stains from your wallet, begin by preparing a cleaning solution by combining two cups of lukewarm water with two teaspoons of white vinegar and one drop of liquid dish soap. Stir this together until it forms a consistent mixture with no clumps.
Soak a clean cloth in the solution and use it to blot stained area of your wallet. Be sure to apply the solution gently so as not to cause any further damage to leather material.
Once the stained area has been completely saturated with the cleaning solution, let it sit for about 15 minutes before proceeding to the next step.
After letting the solution sit for about 15 minutes, you should have a good amount of cleaning solution absorbed into the leather. Take a soft brush and gently scrub the stained area, paying close attention to its edges.
Scrubbing the area with the soft brush should help to loosen up the stain and make it easier to remove.
Once you're done scrubbing the stained area, take a clean cloth and wipe away any excess residue. Make sure to rinse the cloth frequently so as not to spread the mouthwash stain further.
Once you are satisfied that stain has been removed, lay the wallet flat on a towel and let it air dry for a few hours. Do not place it in direct sunlight or heat as this could cause leather to crack or discolor.
If you want to prevent mouthwash stains from ruining your wallet again in the future, it's best to keep it away from liquids as much as possible. Keep it stored in a cool, dry place and wipe off any spills right away.
