One of simplest ways to remove mouthwash stains from an umbrella is with warm water and detergent. First, fill a sink or bucket up with warm water and add a few tablespoons of laundry detergent. Place the umbrella in water and use a soft-bristled brush to gently scrub the stain away. Then, rinse the umbrella in a sink of cold water to be sure all the detergent is removed. Hang the umbrella up to air dry.
If there are still traces of the mouthwash left after using the water and detergent method, you can try using rubbing alcohol. Dab a cotton cloth or soft sponge with rubbing alcohol, then gently rub the stained area until the mouthwash stain is gone. Rinse the umbrella in cold water to remove the rubbing alcohol residue, then hang to air dry.
For persistent mouthwash stains, you can make a solution of equal parts vinegar and water. Dip a cloth or soft sponge in the solution and rub it onto the affected area. Once the stain has been removed, rinse the umbrella in cold water and hang it up to dry.
Mouthwash stains on umbrellas don’t have to be permanent. With a little bit of effort, it’s possible to clean off any remaining mouthwash stains and get your umbrella looking good as new. The methods above are easy to do and don’t require any special cleaning supplies.
