How to Remove Stubborn Mouthwash Stains From Twill

Mouthwash stains can be a pain to remove from twill fabric, but it's not impossible. With the right cleaning products and processes, these unsightly stains can be removed from twill in no time.

What You'll Need:

  • Mild soap or cleaner
  • White vinegar or borax
  • A clean rag or soft brush
  • Plastic wrap
  • Iron

Procedure:

  1. Mix one tablespoon of the soap or cleaner with one cup of water.
  2. Dip rag or soft brush into the cleaning solution and blot the area around the mouthwash stain.
  3. Pour 1/2 cup of white vinegar or borax onto the stain and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  4. Rinse the area with cold water.
  5. Blot the area with a clean rag or paper towel.
  6. Place a piece of plastic wrap over the stain and gently press with an iron on a low setting.
  7. Let area cool, then rinse with cold water.
  8. Blot the area once more with a clean rag or paper towel.
  9. Allow the fabric to air dry.

Tips:

  • Avoid rubbing, scrubbing, or using a brush on any stains, as this may cause them to spread or get worse.
  • If necessary, repeat above steps until stain has been removed.
