The first step to removing mouthwash stains is to pre-treat the fabric with a mixture of white vinegar and liquid detergent. Create a mixture of equal parts vinegar and detergent in a bucket, then submerge stain in it until it is completely soaked. Allow fabric to soak for at least 30 minutes. This will help loosen up stain and make it easier to remove.
Once fabric has had a chance to soak, rinse it off with cool water. Make sure all of the soap and vinegar mixture is gone. If the stain is still visible, repeat pre-treatment process until it is no longer visible.
Once the stain is no longer visible, use a sponge to gently scrub away any remaining residue. Be sure to use a gentle, circular motion so that you don't damage the fabric. Work slowly and pay close attention to the area around the stain.
Once the mouthwash stain has been removed, it’s time to launder your tussah fabric. Wash according to the manufacturer's instructions, but always err on side of caution and use the lowest temperature setting possible. This will help ensure that you don’t damage your fabric.
