The first step to remove a mouthwash stain is to blot it. Use a damp cloth or paper towel to gently press against the fabric and absorb as much of the liquid as possible. Take care not to rub the cloth too harshly as this could damage or spread stain.
Once you have blotted mouthwash stain, it is time to pre-treat the fabric. Mix one teaspoon of liquid laundry detergent with two cups of cool water. Dip a clean cloth into the mixture, making sure not to saturate it. Gently dab pre-treatment onto the stained area, being careful not to rub the fabric too hard. Allow the pre-treatment to sit for 10 minutes before proceeding to the next step.
Rinse the pre-treated area with cold water. After rinsing, use a clean cloth or paper towel to blot the still-damp fabric. This will help remove any excess liquid as well as the mouthwash stain.
Once the stain has been removed, launder the garment according to the manufacturer’s instructions. If there is still a trace of the stain remaining, repeat the above steps until it has been completely removed.
