Mouthwash staining a tracksuit is an all too common problem. The first step towards removing these pesky stains is identifying the type of fabric used to create the tracksuit. Different fabrics require different methods of cleaning and it is important to know this before beginning.

Once you have determined the fabric type, you will need to prepare the cleaning solutions. Using a soft cloth, mix one teaspoon of laundry detergent with two cups of warm water and gently scrub stain. The cleaning solution should be applied directly to stain and allowed to sit for around 15 minutes before continuing.

After 15 minutes, take a clean cloth and gently dab the stained area. Do not rub for fear of spreading the stain. Once the stain has been successfully removed, rinse the area with cold water and allow the garment to air dry.

If stain persists, a stronger cleaning solution such as white vinegar and baking soda may be used. All you need to do is mix one tablespoon of baking soda with two tablespoons of white vinegar and apply it directly to the stain. Again, allow the solution to sit for around 15 minutes before proceeding. After the allotted time, take a clean cloth and gently dab the stained area to remove any remaining residue. Finally, rinse the area with cold water and allow the garment to air dry.

Keeping tracksuits clean can be a tricky task but with these simple tips, you can easily remove mouthwash stains and keep your tracksuits looking good as new!
